Sheila Miller is long retired and has had a variety of jobs over her long life. “We used to go to Peasmarsh and often used to stay up there in the hoppers huts because there were huts provided. You used to have your mattress up there and bring all household goods and have a fire. We’d have stews. My mother used to cook sausage rolls and buns. We probably used to eat more than she earned."

Joy has been a factory worker, driver, waitress, charity shop worker. In her 90s now, she is still knitting for those in need.
