Biography of Sally

Sally was 28 years old when she moved to Rye - she was working as a Croupier at a Casino in London at the time.  Prior to that she had lived and worked mostly abroad for 6 years in Germany and the USA, first as a professional musician touring with the Ivy Benson Band, then as a consultant for Elizabeth Arden in Boston USA,  then as an Executive Secretary in London.   

Six months after she came to Rye she left the Casino and started worked locally in several different office jobs.  She then met her artist husband Robert and became his agent, administrator and book-keeper.  Alongside that she was Secretary to the Rye Society of Artists for 38 years, during which time she was also freelancing as a part-time musician, band leader and music teacher.  She  also briefly taught spinning at a local craft centre.  She is now retired.
