Biography of Frances

Frances Candy's love of tennis begins with her parents who first met at the tennis club in St Leonards and Frances was on these courts aged 5. She bgan lessons at 8 and by the time she was 11 she entered and won a county tournament run by the Evening News. Frances never looked back.. winning at county and national level through to the finals at Queens Club on grass courts.

'I just LOVE winning' says Frances...who went on to win national and international tournaments on the circuit here in the UK and in Australia and Texas. While in the US she also learned to teach aerobics with Jane Fonda in California.

At aged 50 Frances wins the World Seniors Title earning her a place on the GB Seniors Team. She ranked 9th playing the circuit for a decade internationally with this team. Frances's dedication to the game, inspiring stories of her two handed backhand (wooden rackets were very heavy when she was a young player)and an exceptionally powerful forehand continue to inspire her students to this day.
